21 Points on Your Feet You Can Massage to Improve Your Well-Being
On our feet, there are reflection zones for lots of internal organs, and we can improve our well-being by pressing on them.
Bright Side will show you the most important points and tell you how to massage them to always feel your best.
- It’s recommended to massage the whole foot, not just certain points. First, stretch and warm up your feet: walk barefoot around the room, rise several times on your toes, and take a warm foot bath.
- Rub the entire foot with gentle movements, then start pressing on every active point (for 3-7 seconds), moving from the toes to the heel. Use such techniques as stretching (when massaging toes), tapping (with the edge of the palm), pinching, and rubbing.
- You may find trigger points in the process. This means the organs these points are responsible for aren’t fine. You’d better massage them especially thoroughly.
- The technique of influence on painful areas is pressing (with your thumb), which you should alternate with pauses. The whole process should take no more than a minute. If you did everything right, the pain disappears.
- There are following contraindications for foot massage: fever, blood clotting disorder, exacerbation of chronic diseases, deep cuts, or trauma on the feet.
