If You're Out Of Ideas For Easter Dinner Try Peep Sushi

By the time Easter rolls around everyone is sick to death of abstinence and sacrifice and winter. They want to put Lent behind them and luxuriate in the carnal excess of yummy, delicious, teeth rotting candy. Then, hyped up on sugar, they reenact the pagan rites of spring by wearing huge hats and searching for the symbols of fertility that are boiled eggs. Easter is a weird holiday, you guys.
What better symbol of this weirdness is there than a smooshy Peep. I eat a Peep by biting off the butt and the nose and throwing the rest in the garbage. It's not fancy, but it feels right. The folks over at Serious Eats have more sophisticated ideas about how to enjoy the seasonal treat.

They recently updated their Peep menu with a new video that shows everything you need to make Peep Sushi, or Peepshi, at home. This is very helpful if you want to skip the farce that is the Easter ham. Beginning with the classic MakiPeepshi:

The main ingredients are Rice Krispy Treats, Fruit By The Foot, Nerds and of course Peeps. Watching them get made is totally fascinating, even if your teeth hurt when you look at the final product.
